On 16 June
2009, on the national Youth Day in South Africa, the Youth of Pretoria
City West embarked on a program designed by their various youth leaders.
The theme for the day, as suggested by District Elder Naude, was
"Friendship". They, together with the office bearers, also wore
special t-shirts made for the day.

The Youth
at first came together at the Union Building to meet one another, sing a
few songs, and to discuss the activities for the day.

The Youth outside Steve Biko Academic hospital
The main
focus was a visit to the Steve Biko Academic hospital, in order to reach
out to others in need. On arrival at the hospital the Youth announced
"we are here to serve", and so made music and performed sketches for the
patients, visited them, while also meeting the staff as they went to the
various wards. One of the favourite hymns was "Here I am Lord",
and many requested that the Youth visit their ward, in order to sing for
them as well.
