Youth
We promote the teaching of sound values and principles to the emerging adults of the church. This new generation, aged between 15 and 25, are considered to be a core segment of the church membership and their leaders are regularly trained to prepare them to relate to their faith in an ever-changing world. This is achieved through a diversely-structured program of activities to permit their full expression.
Furthermore, the youth are taught to understand and apply their faith creatively when seeking solutions to the challenges of their lives. The programmes are conveyed in an environment of openness and mutual respect, with the ultimate objective of facilitating them towards spiritual maturity and fulfilment.
In January 2000 the Youth Programme 2000+ was launched. The programme was designed by a group of youth members under the guidance of the District Apostle. A vision statement was produced that reads:"to be a joyful, self-driven youth group in which proud members foster team spirit, grow in understanding of Christ's doctrine, respect for others and the desire to serve".
The programme was designed so that it is youth driven and is aimed at bringing together different youth groups who are presently separated by traditional, cultural, ethnic and many other boundaries. Forthwith the youth will also select their own youth leader who serves for a period of one year.
