Some of the Youth of Durban Central District at Ushaka Marine’s Wet n Wild |
Visit To Ushaka Marine World
08.05.2007
What do Durbanites do on those muggy days when the sun blazes down on them?
They head straight to the pool or beach to relax and cool off. And on Saturday,
24 February 2007 that is exactly what the Youth of Durban Central District did.
They headed to Ushaka Marine’s Wet n Wild courtesy of District Elder Eddie
Wentzel for some fun in the sun and daring water slide features. For some of the
Youth the day was particularly special as it was their first time to the theme
park. The Youth had an amazing day and went on every ride, from the Jika Jika to
the Squid and the Cuba. There were also the combined rides which saw six or
seven Youth in one tube plummeting into the water, amidst thrills and screams.
There were even those brave ones that enjoyed dropping to earth in the highest
slide in Africa, the Drop Zone, which is 40m long from the top to the bottom and
is at a 45° angle. The day was loads of fun and the Youth would never have left
the theme park if it didn’t close its doors at 17h00.
