Sunday School

Individual pastoral care begins with the teaching of our Sunday School children. They are being taught the fundamentals of their faith by dedicated teachers who are voluntary helpers in this area of the work of God. They love their children and go the extra mile to ensure their understanding and faith. The children in turn love their teachers and are happy to be guided by them. The instruction process does not only cover the lesson syllabus but also includes singing.

A system of tuition has been expertly designed to meet the growing needs of our school-going children. These lessons are conveyed to separate age-groups directly after the morning divine service. The material is scriptural-based and the children are encouraged to participate as much as possible. As the child matures, certain practical concepts with respect to the application of the doctrine becomes introduced. These programmes are often supplemented by outdoor activities to foster the relational aspects between teachers, children and peers alike.

For older children religious instruction classes are presented to supplement their understanding and capacity for life as well as secure their choice for the Lord. Specific aspects such as prayer, respect, attitude, responsibility, decision-making and the understanding of life after death etc. are also discussed. For the teenage child, the program of religious instruction is replaced by confirmation classes. This phase of development culminates when the teenager enters adult Christian life through the making of a public vow to God on his/her day of Confirmation.
