Our
senior members have always been regarded as the backbone of the congregation. They are
rich in experiences of faith, endurance and are great examples of love. They have
remained steadfast through the most difficult of times and continue to stimulate others
with their unwavering support. The rectors endeavour to show their gratitude for this
"background" support by arranging special gatherings and outings for them. Other
appropriate activities are also arranged by appointed teams to show appreciation to this
highly-esteemed element of our membership.
The District Apostle Kitching also conducts
special area combined divine services for our senior members where they form their
own choir and orchestra. Out of their ranks experienced choir conductors and organists
form part of the service by conducting the choir and playing the organ for these
occasions.
In order to assist in coping with the realities of advancing age and future existence,
our senior members are cared for through frequent personal contact and support by their
ministerial leaders. Our senior members themselves feel honoured and privileged and always
contribute substantially to the congregational way of life.
