On Sunday, 28
February 2010, during a divine service in Dinwiddie, District
Apostle Kitching placed Bishop Hector into an early retirement due
to health reasons.
Bishop Hector,
who had a background in the insurance industry, began working at the
administration office in Bedfordview in 1992. He was ordained that
same year, on 2 February, as bishop during a divine service
conducted by Chief Apostle Fehr in the Standard Bank Arena. In total
Bishop Hector served for nearly 32 years in the ministry.

District Apostle Kitching thanked the bishop for his
years of faithful service and contribution to the Lord’s Work, and
commented the bishop will be missed by the brothers and sisters that
he served.
After service a special fellowship was enjoyed in a
tent that was constructed next to the church with local apostles and
bishops, administration staff as well as friends and family.
