On Sunday, 15 March 2009, the first service was conducted in Bergville. The new congregation will serve the Drakensberg Central area. Members from Ladysmith congregation travelled to Bergville to assist with the choir.

During the latter part of last year Priest Gustafson and his family moved to Bergville.  This prompted Bishop Naidoo to open a congregation to serve the 5 families living in the area. The owner of Drakensberg Inn offered the church the use of a hall at no charge.

The congregation will be cared for by the Northern Natal District under District Evangelist Nico Venter and the rector of Ladysmith congregation, Evangelist Gavin Love.

After service the congregation arranged for fellowship and enjoyed a braai.
