Twenty melodicas were donated by one of our members towards the development of our conductors in Mpumalanga and Mozambique (Maputo) respectively. The melodicas will form part of the music strategy in these areas. After working through the basics in recorder playing the next step was to engage our leading conductors in playing the melodica. The principal idea is to teach them true note singing or sound production since most of the choirs in Mpumalanga province work from tonic solfa scores. The melodicas were handed out to the conductors on 3 August in Mpumalanga (KaNyamazane) and on 6 August 2006 in Maputo.
