Fundraising on the Beachfront
26.11.2007
Saturday, 8 September 2007 was a day filled with fun, vetkoek, a
variety of sweetmeats and a little bit of everything to satisfy everyone's
needs. What was this all in aid of? To raise funds for a planned choral in
November and to purchase a data projector. The event was held at the
amphitheatre on Durban's North Beach. Congregations rallied together and sold
various things, while kids were also entertained with a jumping castle and
sweets. There was also a raffle for a weekend away to Margate, which was won by
Priest Goss and his wife Anthea. “Because it was held in such a centralised
venue, it was also good awareness for the church. Nonmembers also attended and
the interest from them was great,” said Priest Goss. The Bishop also had one of
the sand sculptors create our church emblem with sea sand on the beach .
