When the ministries and wives were invited by the District Elder Louis Brandt to join the Bishop Petersen for dinner on 14 July 2007, they could not imagine what they had in store for them. Westonaria congregation under the leadership of Priest Gerhard du Plooy, hosted the 70 people present. They were treated to a menu of wonderful food for the soul in between the 3-course meal that was served. The ‘Model Choir’ under the very capable direction of Priest Gideon Swart, rendered the masterpiece ‘The Lord Reigneth’, and other pieces. The ‘Model Choir’ consists of 14 members and the Bishop encouraged them to grow in numbers. Eight youth members also treated the audience to songs like ‘You raised me up’. The next surprise was the introduction of a group who blended together perfectly when they delivered the song ‘Amazed’. A recently formed brass band also entertained the group. The Bishop mentioned that it was a perfect occasion where brethren in Christ could commune and praise God. He said that depending on the type of function, fitting music could be chosen as part of having fellowship.
