As reported previously, on 17 April 2009 Mr Ashley Theron, the CEO of Child Welfare South Africa (CWSA), attended a meeting for apostles and bishops at the administrative offices in Bedfordview.  During the meeting a plan to establish a partnership between the church and CWSA was discussed. CWSA with the assistance of many membership organizations care for destitute children and their affected families throughout South Africa.

The church’s objective is to provide ongoing support of the following nature:

• Tangible donations (clothing, non perishable food, blankets, money, toys etc.)
• Non tangible donations (skills training and social support).

The Bishop Cecil Petersen was appointed as the Liaison Officer between our church and CWSA.  As part of our relation building exercise with CWSA, he attended the inauguration ceremony of the Goodwill Ambassador of CWSA, Ms Mara Louw on 19 April 2009.

On 7 May 2009 the official cementing of the partnership between our district church and CWSA took place at Eikenhof where several donations were handed to them.
