Four Souls Sealed at Confirmation Camp

11.03.2010

The weekend of 19-21 February 2010 saw an eventful Confirmation Camp taking place at Jabuweni Lodge in the Limpopo Province. The motto for the weekend was “Perseverence through Jesus Christ”.

The camp, initiated by Apostle Joubert, was attended by 166 Confirmands, 6 Youth members and 25 ministers (including Apostle Joubert, Bishops Radebe, Liddle and Rudolph, District Leaders and Rectors) and their wives. The weekend consisted of fun filled team-building exercises that included spiritual components of the New Apostolic Creed and Confirmation vow.

The camp started on the Friday evening with orientation and directives after all the Confirmands arrived from various destinations, some from as far as 300 km away. Jabuweni Lodge was selected since it had facilities often used by schools and institutions for team building purposes and because it was a central point for all Confirmands attending from the surrounding towns and cities across the three Bishop areas.

Saturday morning saw the Confirmands divided into 4 teams each receiving their own representative colour T-shirts and caps. Confirmands were deliberately put into groups with others they did not know to foster familiarity and friendship and many agreed that this was achieved by the time the camp had ended.

Each team was sent on 4 activities, 2 before lunch and 2 more afterwards. The activities were based on 4 key areas of the NAC Creed which included, 1) Imagine a Life with God (The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit), 2) The 3 Sacraments (Holy Baptism, Holy Sealing and Holy Communion), 3) The Apostle Ministry and 4) Dream to Share the Kingdom, (The First Resurrection, Judgment and Eternity). All the team building and physical activities were accompanied by presentations from Youth members or ministers.

Even the Apostle, bishops and all the other ministries participated in the physical activities. They felt that if Confirmands could do it, so could they, and this inspired everyone to give of their best.

Sunday morning found the Divine Service conducted by the Apostle Joubert as a climactic point with 4 sisters being sealed in the presence of the whole congregation. The text word was taken from Revelation 3:21.
