Choral Afternoon in Bloemfontein

The culmination of the work of the music committee, comprising
of six members from the Southern and Eastern Free State Districts, was a choral
afternoon held in a packed Heidedal congregation on 28 October 2007. The theme
was “Preparation for the Service for the Departed”. The choral afternoon
contained musical items by a Sunday School choir, recorder players, an
orchestra, and choir. A few musical items were also performed by the Musicon (a
music school in Bloemfontein). These are players who form part of the Botshabela
Strings Programme and consisted of some of our own Sunday School children. A
montage of photos of loved ones who had passed away was also shown while
accompanied by hymn 518 (Just as the stars disappear in the morning) being
played on the violin .
