On 17 March 2009, Mr Ashley Theron of Child Welfare South Africa, assisted by two helpers, gave a presentation during a meeting District Apostle Kitching conducted in the administration offices in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.  At this meeting, attended by the South African apostles and bishops of the South East Africa District Church, they explained how the church could become involved in assisting them in their work. 

The church already made a monetary donation to Child Welfare South Africa in 2008.  It is also planned that the various institutions cared for by the organization will be identified and linked to the congregations or district in their vicinity.  A donation of clothing on behalf of the church will also be made soon.
