Chief Apostle
Leber made a visit to the South East Africa District Church between 4 - 7 July
2008. During his stay a series of events were planned in Johannesburg and
Pretoria as part of this blessed occasion. Accompanying the Chief Apostle
on his visit were the District Apostles Freund (USA) and De Bruijn (The
Netherlands) and District Apostle Helper Lubasi (Kenya).
Outing to Gold
Reef City - 5 July
On the morning of 5 July the Chief Apostle visited one of Johannesburg's tourism
highlights, namely, Gold Reef City. Part of the program included a guided
underground tour of the mine as well as a gold-pouring exhibition.
Choral
Concert - West Park Cemetery - 5 July

After the visit to
Gold Reef City, the Chief Apostle and guests, as well as local apostles attended
a concert at West Park Cemetery in preparation for the Service for the Departed.
Invitations to this musical event was open to all who wished to attend, and 4
965 members could share in this unique, historical event. Chief Apostle
Leber also made use of this opportunity to lay a wreath at the grave of the late
District Apostle Kitching.
Service for the Departed in Pretoria Central - 6
July

Pretoria Central Congregation
It was a
blessed occasion when on Sunday, 6 July the Chief Apostle conducted the Service
for the Departed in the Pretoria Central congregation. In attendance were
595 souls. Invited to this service were members who had lost loved ones in
recent months. Members were also invited to bring a bunch of flowers to
form part of the floral decorations in the church building.

Leber used a word out of John 14:6 as basis for the service:
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through Me."
During the
service, 3 apostles and 5 bishops were ordained to assist in the Lord's Work
throughout the South East Africa District Church.
Ordinations: South Africa
Bishop Jeremiah Joubert was ordained as Apostle for Pretoria and District Elder
Johannes Liddle was ordained as Bishop for the Limpopo Province.
Ordinations: Mozambique
The Bishops Cinco-Reis and Marucha were ordained as Apostles for Mocuba and
Nampula respectively. District Evangelist Matsinhe and Evangelist Alfazema
were ordained as Bishops for Beira and Mocuba.

Madagascar
The District Elders Felix Ratsimbazafy and Arsene Randrianarison were ordained
as Bishops for Madagascar.
The service was also transmitted
audio-visually to 293 satellite points throughout the South East Africa region,
where a further 30 000 members could form part of the congregation. In total, 30
745 members participated in the service.

The Chief Apostle saying farewell after the service
