"Because
I Am One" Project
Carletonville Congregation launched a
project to gather clothes for the Amazing Grace Children’s Home. In
total 23 plastic bags filled with clothing and toys were presented to
Grace Mashaba, founder of the Children’s Home, on 2 May 2009.
Currently the centre is home to 91
children with 21 children being between five and seven years of age.
The project entailed donating at least one pair of gloves and one set of
underwear for each child in this age group.
Besides the clothes that members of
Carletonville congregation collected from their colleagues, friends and
family, new clothes were bought as well.
They managed to donate amongst other
things, 146 sets of underwear, 25 vests, 20 pair of socks, 3 hats, 27
pairs of gloves, soft toys, dolls, balls and 18 storybooks.

In
total 42 pairs of baby socks and 2 baby blankets were knitted
or crochet by four sisters in the congregation
Carletonville being a very small
congregation, proved that it is not the amount of members that makes a
difference but rather the sincerity and love which comes straight from
the heart to those in need.
Grace Mashaba thanked everyone for their
contribution and love towards the children.
