Divine Service in KaNyamazane
The
"pinnacle", the most important event of the Chief Apostle's visit happened when
he conducted a televised divine service in KaNyamazane, located about 20 km
outside of Nelspruit. The arrival of the Chief Apostle was unique, in that he
entered the church from the front and walked through the congregation,
accompanied by the beating of drums and a welcome anthem. The broadcast to all
the receiving congregations also allowed for a glimpse into the vestry before
the service. Another first.
Approximately 1 000 members
attended the service, which was also attended by the apostles and bishops of our
district, as well as the apostles from the Cape and Madagascar. During the
service, District Elders Daniel Mulemba (Zimbabwe), Simeon Musowaya (Botswana)
and Vernon Rudolph (Pretoria) were ordained as bishops. The service was
enjoyed by 128 975 members in 880 connected stations in the South East Africa
and Cape Apostle Districts.
