"Home of Safety"
On Saturday, 15 April 2006, the Sunday School children of Boksburg District spent the day with children of a ‘Home of Safety’ in Benoni. They collected Easter eggs from the congregation well in advance. On the the day the eggs were hidden in various places to facilitate a ‘treasure hunt’. Thereafter the children played sports and games together, and enjoyed a braai. A discussion followed on the meaning of Easter. 

Sithabile Child Care Centre
The Sithabile Child Care Centre was visited by our members on Saturday, 3 June 2006. The event was coordinated by the District Welfare Committee and as part of their outreach program, they handed over 20 bags of winter clothing and toys to the centre. These items were collected in the district. The members were welcomed by the trustees of the home, Solly and his wife Thabisile, and the home was discussed over a cup of tea. The children were thereafter introduced to ‘melkkos’, a traditional winter dish. They were also invited to judge on which pot of melkkos was the ‘winner’.
