Divine Service in Thaba Tshwane
On Sunday 22 October 2006, a special service was held in Thaba Tshwane for 508
Senior Members of the Pretoria area. The service, which was also attended by
children of the Trans Oranje School for the Deaf, was conducted by Apostle
Wilson. The service was translated into sign language for them by Marelize Gouws,
a teacher at the school. It was also a special moment when they, along with the
Senior choir, “sang” “How Great Thou Art” in sign language. After the service
the children showed the congregation how to sign “I love you”. Marelize Gouws
thanked the church for inviting them to the service and giving them the
opportunity to participate in the singing.
Weekend at Skogheim Christian Conference Centre
The Bishop Areas of Bishop Naidoo and Shabangu planned a Senior Members weekend
for 10-12 November 2006. This coincided with the planning of Apostle Dimba who
scheduled a service for Seniors on 12 November. Skogheim Christian Conference
Centre in Port Shepstone was chosen as the venue where 151 Seniors stayed for
the weekend. The Seniors were entertained by the Youth, then went for a trip to
the beach, had a choir practise, and the Saturday evening had fun and games in
the centre’s hall. More Senior members arrived at the centre for the service the
following morning, bringing the attendance to 252 souls.
