Two More Churches Built By Our Members In Limpopo Province

01.10.2008

Following on Buysdorp, Marowe and Rantlakana, our members of the Limpopo District under supervision of Bishop Liddle completed another two projects, namely Mashobohleng and Chavane. Mashobohleng was inaugurated by Apostle Barnes on 14 June 2008, and Chavane was inaugurated by Apostle Mwape on 22 June 2008.

Short Histories:

Mashobohleng: The congregation of Mashobohleng started in the house of Sister Maria Morifi in 1970. She was testified to by the Bishop Lecton Molele of her former church, the “Bantu Apostolic Church”. He had a dream in 1984 in that he must join the New Apostolic Churh, which he and all his members eventually did. In 2006 the Church reserved a piece of land from the Mashobohleng captain to build a church building. The congregation then started to put a fence around the piece of land and in Febuary 2008 the Limpopo District began with construction. The church was completed in ten weeks.

Chavane: In 1996 Sister Selina contacted the head office in connection with starting up a congregation in Chavani. She was advised to meet with the Priest Van Niekerk who in turn arranged with Priest JJ Kemp to begin the congregation. They started having services at the Nkensani Traditional Authority. A few months later Sister Selina’s home was used for services. In 1997 they contacted Wisani Pre-School for use of a classroom to hold services, to which they agreed free of charge. The first members were baptized in the same year. At a later stage, Mr MJ Mukhari, husband of Sister Selina, donated part of his stand to the Church and only recently were the necessary funds raised to build a church. The members of Limpopo District, especially Louis Trichardt congregation, donated money and helped to build the church. The church was build with a new concept where concrete slabs were used for the walls.
